JUST WATCHED HOME TAPED VERSION OF "TRIPLE ECHO" WITH OLLIE AND GLENDA JACKSON - BUT TIMER COCK-UP MEANT THAT TAPE FINISHED BEFORE THE END OF FILM !!

I GOT UP TO WHERE OLLIE AND PSYCHOPATHIC RED CAPS WERE TRACKING DOWN GLENDA'S "SISTER". THEY KICKED 'HER' DOWN A HILL AND GENERALLY BEAT 'HER' UP.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT PLEASE???

Hi Jim

Damn tape deck, you were seconds from the end.

The 'sister' was (after a good kicking - as you said) taken off to the army land rover to be taken back to base. The 'sister' being awol as you know. As they approach - Glenda prompty leans out the window with the (recently repaired) shooter and blows said 'sister' away!.

I have a question posted on here somewhere asking why she did that. I just couldn't work it out and it was bugging me.

The topic is here

But I don't think any of the answers resolve the question.

Rob

Jim and RobWaz...

like you i was confused a tad by the ending...the two reasons i could think of was that she knew that the Oliver Reid character would really rough the Brian Deacon character up...maybe beat him to death so she was maybe putting him out of his misery. The second reason was that the Oliver Reid character had remarked that she was pretty despicable sheltering an AWOL whilst her own husband was a Japanese POW. Maybe in her own way she 'came to her senses' by killing him she would suffer doubly, because she had killed a man she loved, and would face the death sentance herself. Anyway, strange little film, not overly sure if I enjoyed it or not but any film with Glenda Jackson is always worth watching, and Brian Deacon did make a very attractive woman!

You could be right Just Jane (did you know that there is a Lancaster Bomber named after you?).

My sister in law reads a lot and has read the novel by H. E. Bates and reckons the same as you. So there it is!

Thanks to you all. thumbs_u

Good morning boys.
