Default Dr Blood's Coffin

This early sixties horror film, directed by Sidney J Furie

I have been trying for several years to get a copy of this film, either vhs or preferably dvd,to no avail[I have a copy I recorded from the television in 1984].I know it's possible to get a USA version, however I can,t recall it ever being on television ever since.Without appearing paranoid could this have been banned similarly to Straw Dogs? Though I can't imagine why!Can anyone help?
Thanks.

My recording of it was made off Channel 4 in the early hours of Sunday, November 19th, 1995 and it hasn't been shown since.

Dr Blood's Coffin, released in 1961, is an excellent, underated British horror movie that deserves a video or DVD release. Kieron Moore and Hazel Court are both very good in it and the Eastman Color location photography of Cornwall is beautiful.

Although given an X certificate at the time, the horror elements now look pretty tame by today's standards, but still pack a punch. It was never banned in any way. Just went out on general release and was forgotten about over the long years since the early 1960's.

Sorry I can't make a copy for you, but I don't have two video machines and I never loan out my tapes to anyone. But perhaps you should contact Channel 4 and ask them for a repeat...after all, it is nine years since they last ran it.

Corr! Hazel Court - she used to make me go all gooey, and she could equal Janet Scott in the screams department!

Born in Birmingham 1926 and now lives in America and who can blame her? She would be 78 now, so probably a bit short in 'goo' department. thumbs_u thumbs_u

Good morning boys.

Many thanks for the replies, indeed it is very underated. It's a bit of a cult movie for me.Fancy the gorgeous Hazel Court coming from Sutton Coldfield in our 'neck of the woods'!
