This film, made (as most of you will probably know) in 1960, is available on DVD, but I am of the belief that some of the scenes have been cut from this version, most notably the striptease scene amongst others. Am I correct in believing this, and if I am, is there a DVD version available that is complete?

According to the IMDB, the US version runs at 83 minutes. The original UK version was cut on its release. The Second Sight DVD release was nearly 89 mins in length, which would make it exactly the same as the 92 minute US DVD, taking into account PAL speed up. Does this help?

The US disc is cut, deleting the raunchy striptease footage. Go for the UK disc.

The complete version crops up on FilmFour every so often. A couple of years ago it was broadcast with a tres humerous preamble delivered by Alex Cox, and it was rebroadcast uncut something like 10-12 months ago.

I meant to say the UK VHS, not DVD. From the information I gave alone, that conclusion could not be reached. An eventual UK release would settle the matter.

its is not a bad film in its own right, but with the full footage, its even better :)

BBC4 screened the 'full' version at 7.30pm, so it is not too exciting by today's standards.....
