Looks a bit like comedy writer Eddie Braben.

Are you thinking of Dave King, who played a villain in the episode Pay Off? He looks to me very much like my new cult favourite Henry Beckman, George Anderson in Peyton Place.

EDIT - Is the original poster a Michael Jackson fan by any chance?

No, not Dave King, but he's bang on that era, and that sort of type. In my minds ear he may have a Northern...Yorkshire?? accent......in some roles.

John Collin comes to mind. He was in an episode of The Sweeney called Contract Breaker, but this is from the film The Witches (1966):

Everyone else in the quiz is fairly well-known so my guess is he's a director or writer (he's the final answer)

I plump for Michael O'Shea too.

I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

Great. He played Lesley-Anne Down's Northern father in the last black-and-white episode of Public Eye, called Shades of White, with Sheila Allen as his duplicitous housekeeper. If I'm not mistaken, the actress who played his weak wife is, or was, the mother of the Head brothers (Murray and Anthony). Another trip to IMDb ... Exactly right! Her name is Helen Shingler.

Sadly, John, who has a thread here somewhere, died when he was in his mid-50s.

Ray is right. I found the picture, but I can't get it on my computer to transfer it to Photobucket. Here is the link. The picture posted here has been cropped, but it's clearly the same person in the exact same pose.

Here you are, Will. Well done, Ray. I don't know this actor:

Thanks Will, I didn't want to argue, but I knew that I was right!
