I remember playing this fantastic board game as a kid with some school mates in the early-1970s, but I can't remember what it was called or if it is still available. Basically it was set in Hollywood and you could start off in the industry as a lowly director and try and work your way up to Oscar status. It was quite enjoyable at the time and I'd love to get hold of it again.

Thanks but unfortunately it's not the same one, but well worth a bid I suppose.

I wondered about buying one of those DIY Monopoly sets and using famous pre 1960 British films instead of street names, studios instead of stations, and substituting the houses and hotels with awards! The rent money could be royalties or other film industry earnings. The Water Works and Electric Board could be changed to other film related things like props or OB unit companies, and the Community Chest and Chance could easily be rewritten to be something more relevant. Worth a go if I get an evening free!

That's the one! Thanks a lot.

If you read the ad it says it "comes from a smooke free home". What is a smooke? Is it some sort of domestic parasite that gets into board games and eats all the money and plastic playing pieces?

If they are refering to "smoke free" does that mean that tobacco smoke can damage board games?

Whenever I see that self-righteous note on an item offered for sale (always from an American) I always tell them I've made sure that the payment has lots of smoke all over it to make up for their lack of smoke (made from American tobacco)
