years ago during the second world war or just after stewart granger was filming on black rock sands in wales.the movie was called "combined operations" and my father was lucky enough to be a extra in it driving a amphibius craft.(as part of the army he was in was involved).
i have searched and searched for the film,last time my father saw it was at the movies when it first was released.but i can't find it listed anywhere.can anyone help with any info please.thanks

There's nothing on the IMDb under that title. That's not to say it doesn't exist, they're not perfect, but they're pretty good, especially about films from that period.
But there's also no mention of a film of that name starring Stewart Granger anywhere that Google can find.

But could it be that it finished up as Secret Mission (1942)?
There aren't many details about the actual plot on the IMDb, but it looks like it might be a combined operations type of thing.

Looks like you're probably right Steve. The plotline as described in BritishFilms.com is as follows:

'Four British officers are sent into occupied France to reconnoitre the German defences.
Okay-ish drama, more interesting for being filmed during the war rather than in the 50s during the war film boom, but not terribly memorable.'

Four British intelligence men are sent to assess the strength of German defences in occupied France. With the help of forged papers, they succeed and, as the Germans hunt them, information is sent by the Resistance to British Paratroops who destroy German munitions and fortifications. One of the four infiltrators, Raoul (James Mason) is killed on the brink of escape. Good performances in slowish melodrama
