Yesterday I saw an episode from WIRE IN THE BLOOD. Investigating several murders they had a thought that they could find a movie which the murderers had seen and copied the murders.

So they used a film movie data base. They entered the words 'Youth > Dismembered > Woods > Lake'
and the search engine found "Friday the 13th" and it was the movie they were looking for.

So my question: Is there such a database with the option to search for films by using entries and find a list of possibilities????? If so: Can you name that link for me?????

Well - I put those words + film in Google and the first thing it came up with was Friday the 13th so they could have tried that!

Sorry - what I meant was that is proved not too difficult with an ordinary search engine so a dedicated movie database on similar lines sounded feasible. If it doesn't exist in the real cyberworld yet, I'm sure it soon will!

I agree, most of the time T.V programmes use search engines called "BOOGLE", "GAHOO" or LIKASS"

Google does have something a little like it here...

You can also use the Advanced Search on the IMDb to search for multiple keywords. You have to put the word and between the keywords rather than a chevron.

But they don't use many of those keywords for Friday the 13th.
They use Teen instead of Youth, Beheading & Decapitation instead of Dismembered, they use Lake as a keyword but don't use Woods. I've never seen the film so I don't know which keywords are the more accurate. But that's why searching by keyword is so unreliable. If you happen to choose a keyword that someone describing the film didn't think of, then you won't find it.

Hi Steve,

many thanks to you and ALL THE OTHERS which helped. Any info is helpfull and most welcome and that's the reason I like this page!!!!!! A great link to those which are interested in British Films.

I use the IMdB since years but I have never mentioned the option PLOT SUMMARY (which is free of charge for everybody!!!). Here you can try to find your long looked ilm by using different words, ideas, etc. and if it doesn't work - try it again with other things.
