Question Firefox:Made In Britain?

I watched the last bit of Clint Eastwood's Firefox last night, and with most of the cast made up of British actors, was the film made in Britain?

On a slightly different note, I thought it was interesting to see the contrast in acting styles between Clint Eastwood and the mainly British supporting cast. I thought the scenes with Freddie Jones, who played a slightly eccentric, typically British character, emphasised the difference so well. It might be my imagination, but Clint Eastwood looked like a fish out of water in their scenes together, with a look of slight bewilderment on his face.

Although Firefox is no masterpiece, I think it is treated too harshly by the critics. If you watch it in the right spirit and don't expect too much, I think it's an approachable and entertaining thriller with a fine cast.

Agreed,Phil. Now an accomplished director,Clint's early films at the helm, were I suppose an apprenticeship for his now chosen second career as film director only.
I enjoyed a lot if his films as director, such as High Plains Drifter,The Outlaw Josey Wales,Unforgiven,Absolute Power and even the daft, but entertaining Space Cowboys.
Yes,he is not the same type of actor as the excellent Freddie Jones, and I am sure that Mr Eastwood would be the first to admit it. Then again, can you imagine Freddie Jones in a poncho,or as Dirty Harry,or as a pilot nicking a Soviet jet with Clint Eastwood playing an eccentric professor. It's horses for the courses...

Yes, looking at Clint's career, I think it's amazing just how many good films he's directed. As well as the westerns and cop thrillers, I also enjoyed Play Misty for Me, A Perfect World and The Bridges of Madison County very much, which were all totally different films. The Eiger Sanction wasn't too bad either, despite the terrible reviews. It's great to see someone of his age still at the top of the tree, making films with the old fashioned values of story and character, such as Mystic River and Million Dollar Baby.

Looking at IMDb he's also got a couple of new projects in post-production.

He is making two films about the battle of Iwo Jima, both taken from the point of view of the Americans and Japanese. Not bad for a 76 year old.
