Default PaisÃ*

I'm just watching PaisÃ* for the first time and have got as far as Episode IV, Firenze. Is the British officer with the binoculars Peter Jones? According to IMDB, he would have been 24 at the time, possibly serving in the KLSI, as they were in Italy at the time. He's not listed in the cast, but had appeared as an extra in films from 1944.

Nick

It certainly looks like him, but the voice does not sound right. Without trawling through other films in which he was very young and had a small part, I will wait till I next spot him and then do a comparison. Peter Ustinov, as you know, was a great friend and always gave him a part in any film he made. But Rossellini...?

Don't forget that Italian films were/are almost always dubbed, and the voices of the original actors were almost never used......'live' sound was never recorded...
