Question Am I imagining it -- was there this TV drama called "Barricades" or something?

Ok, this is a TV series nostalgia/burning qu., so please forgive me since this is supposed to be purely for films. (I thought this was the most appropriate place to post my question, since this is a burning qus. area.) Anyways, here's my qu:

Was there ever a TV series called "Barriers", or perhaps it was "Barricades"? I just vaguely remember that in the early '80s, there was this series where a man has flashbacks from WW2 and about a barrier gate (at a checkpoint or something), with soldiers standing guard, and there are scenes with lasers too. I was only around 10 when it was shown on Brit TV, but I have this recurrent memory (which perhaps is not serving me well) that the drama's main character had a Robert Powell type face.

Would really like to know what was the precise name of this series, or does anyone remember it, or whether in fact I am correct that the series name was, indeed, "Barriers", or "Barricades".

I remember it being on Granada or ITV, but perhaps my memory is shot, lol.

Anyone know?

RS

There was an ITV childrens serial, made by Tyne-Tees in 1983 called BARRIERS. It was 20 x thirty minute episodes about an orphaned teenager seeking his roots, and very well made according to "Halliwell's TV Companion".

To be fair when I first asked a question on here I had not heard of IMDb. Mr. Crook enlightened me and I've never looked back.

Just be grateful that they aren't all as clever as you - or you'd be out of a job
