Default Twins in The Wicker Man?

My daughter tells me that although Geraldine Cowper is credited as Rowan, the object of Howie's search in THE WICKER MAN, the part was jointly played by Geraldine and her twin sister Jackie. Jackie had a few subsequent TV roles but died a few years ago of cancer.

Any verification of this?

Unlikely. Jackie didn't start acting until later in the 1970s

But then again, it is common practice to employ child twins in film and TV roles to get around child labour regulations...so it is possible; perhaps Geraldine did more of the close-up acting, Jackie the long shots...her twins body double, as it were.
But were they identical twins??

Bit of a Bay Window, what??

But then they usually both get a credit. And they were about 15 at the time, not very young children that need time off for their nap :)

I Googled around but couldn't find any references to The Wicker Man and Jackie Cowper - except for a few pages about Jackie that happened to have ads for the new Wicker Man.

I've not heard that claim before. With so many Wicker man sites on the net, picking over the fine details of both the film, the filming and it's release, i would of thought it would be wider known.
Certainly, the role of Rowan, was a fairly small one, and with the notoriously tight budget and schedule, i wouldn't of thought Ms. Cowper's presence would of been required for more than a couple of days...
