The Inspector, a 20th Century-Fox CinemaScope release in Color by De Luxe, was released in the UK in June, 1962. It was produced by Mark Robson and was directed by Philip Dunne and starred Stephen Boyd and Dolores Hart and the music was composed and conducted by Malcolm Arnold. A really superb and now mainly neglected drama, it has, like many other Fox films of the period, never been issued on video in the UK and hasn't even been shown on UK television since 1975, 28 years ago! Although no soundtrack material was issued on disc at the time, two versions of the main theme were issued on singles in the UK, by Ferrante and Teicher on HMV 45-POP 1028 and by The Wayfarers on Decca 45-F.11473 (both long since deleted). As far as I know, the film, retitled "Lisa" for American audiences, isn't available on video in the US, either, as a quick check on amazon.com or Movies Unlimited will show.
