Default The Night Caller

Does anybody know how this ends? Central were running behind schedule so my tape only recorded up to the point where they cornered the alien at a farmhouse?

A strange film. Good acting and production, some wonderfully stilted camerawork that reminded me of Vorhaus, but a Jaguar-driving alien that advertises in Bikini Girl? eek!

DB7 -

I dug out the DVD and had a look at this for you...

You only missed the last four or five minutes. The alien is rounded up int the farmhouse, as you say. John Saxon locates his flaming (literally) spaceship in the broken shell of the building in which it landed.

They confront each other from a safe distance and Medra explains how he is a traveller from Ganymede. His people arrived on earth several centuries ago but could not survive in the atmosphere.

From here in it's the old 'timely warning' plot. He tells how his race had the secret of eternal peace, but also harboured the dark secrets of hate.

Civil war almost wiped them out, the few survivors being horribly scarred. The point of kidnapping the girls is to renew their gene pool, so as to repair the damage.

Medra illustrates that progress has been made by showing one lizard hand and one human one. He knows that Saxon is keen to see him, so he shows his perfact human profile. As he turns slowly we see that the other side of his face is still, in part, lizard-like.

He tells Saxon that the girls will come to no harm as, "...we have learned our lesson. One day we will return - if it is not too late..."

Hence we could be saved from ourselves if we listen to this 'benign' influence from Ganymede who has juat seen off Pat Haines...

The rocket blasts off in a ball of flame and roll the credits.

Hope this helps !
