Hi - I live just a couple of miles from Brighton & watched them filming 'Mona Lisa', 'Under Suspicion' , 'Redemption Road', 'Dirty Weekend' & 'Circus'. There must of been hundreds of films shot here, here are some more which haven't been mentioned:

On a Clear Day You Can See Forever

    Villain

    Richard III (1995)

And When Did You Last See Your Father

    Cassandras Dream

    Redemption Road

    London to Brighton

    Loot

Angus Thongs & Perfect Snogging - (0nly a few scenes.)

    Thirteen at Dinner

When I think of some more I'll post them.

    cheers

    David

    name='CliveT']Hi Baggina

I seem to remember quite a few years ago now, that a BBC personality, I think, Michael Aspel/Richard Baker, remarked that Brighton was used as a location for Barbra Streisand's movie "On A Clear Day You Can See Forever" (1969?)

Unfortunately, I don't have any further info/confirmation about this remark!

The Brighton Pavilion is extensively used in a flashback sequence. Streisand's character is hypnotised in an attempt to stop smoking and she regresses into a former life where whe's the daughter of Irene Handl (!) and Roy Kinnear is the Prince Regent (!!).

The Adventures of Jane (1949) has scenes shot at Brighton Station, Rottingdean and Devil's Dyke (a car-chase sequence!). It also feature footage of the old Gaiety cinema (later the Vogue), although bizarrely recast as a variety theatre in which Jane "performs" before arriving in Brighton. As far as I can recall, this is the only instance of a Brighton cinema appearing in a Brighton-based film apart from the fleeting glimpse of the ABC seen in Quadrophenia - where Warren Beatty's Heaven Can Wait (1978) apparently had its world premiere on a bank holiday in 1964....

www.marinegate.co.uk was used in The Double

Also one of the Scales of Justice used The Pavillion, but I've forgotten which one!
