I know it is unlikely - but it isn't biologically impossible!

Ford was playing a bit younger and Sean was a playing a bit older - so it wasn't the maddest example.

When "The Sons Of Katie Elder" was made in 1965, John Wayne Born 1907, was 57 years old. The Grave of his mother says she was 64 years old when she died. Which also means he is 36 years older than his youngest brother Bud, Micheal Anderson JR born 1943.

Not in Britain when Harrison Ford was born, I think (dunno about the States)? No age of consent for boys back then, so if the lady was over the age of consent there would have been no crime. These days any mature woman having sex with a boy of twelve would be guilty of child sexual abuse, of course, and open to prosecution.

I have no idea how the law stood when Indy was supposed to have been conceived in late 19th or very early 20th Century USA (probably?).

It is 16 here, torinfan. Is that 18 across all states? Isn't there one where you can get married at 13? Jerry Lee and all that - forgive me if I'm mistaken.

[UPDATE: apparantly the age of consent is 16 in most states and 17 or 18 in the others:
    • age of consent 16 (31): Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia
    • age of consent 17 (8): Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, Texas
    • age of consent 18 (12): Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, North Dakota, Oregon, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.]
My point was that it certainly used to be the case that there was only an age of consent for girls - not for boys, so it was technically legal for a 12 year old to have sex as long as the girl was over 16.

My question was rather about what the law was back at the turn of the 20th Century when Indiana Jones would have been born?

Nicol Williamson was only 3 years the junior of his mother Judy Parfitt in the fine 1969 film version of Hamlet.

Which reminds me Glenn Close was only 9 years older than Mel Gibson in his version but the winner is Eileen Herlie 11 years younger than Sir Larry in his version.

I'v got addicted to a cop show on Sky Atlantic called Blue Bloods. Only the Americans can make stuff like this. It's The Waltons with guns. Members of the family take it in turns to leave the dinner table in a huff and go out and kill a perp or save one from a bad life. The real point for this thread is that Len Cariou 30/09/39 is father to Tom Selleck 29/01/45. I think they are even dyeing Sellecks chest hair as well as his eyebrows, hair and tash. Worth watching just to see Sellecks eyeglasses, what a Knob.
