Sons older than fathers

What instances can you think of where an actor playing the son, was in fact older than the actor playing the father?



I mean in cases where no special make up was used.



Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang springs to mind. Lionel Jeffries is a couple of years younger than Dick Van Dyke - he had large mutton-chop side-burns in the film but no other 'ageing' devices.

This is close! Joan Sims plays Patsy Rowlands' mum in Carry On Behind. There wasn't a year between them - although Patsy was the younger.

Of Golden Girls Bea Arthur, Betty White and Rue McClanahan, only Rue was actually younger than Estelle Getty! Bea and Betty were both a year older.

And of the four, only Betty is still with us.

Since mothers-in-law are not blood relatives... It depends on the age of the daughter in this case.

Plenty of real life examples of this sort! Ask Bill Wyman - he not only had a younger by years mum-in-law but she was engaged to his son who was 12 years older than his stepmother!
