Further to a recent thread - I wonder if there were any numbers shot for "Hard Days Night" or "Help" that didn't make it to the final cut. Given the relative paucity of good quality videos of Beatles performances (certainly of their lesser known numbers) such material would be fascinating - even if only the master take were to remain in existence. Has anyone any info on this?

I recommend getting ahold of the latest version A Hard Day's Night with the documentary. The documentary is one of the most informative you will find. They discuss editing. I saw it years ago, but check out their own Anthology documentary - volume three has A Hard Day's Night and four has Help.

There is an 'alternative' Hard Day's Night CD (featuring songs not in the film plus different takes, etc.. of the more well know ones).

I have 'alternate' CD's of Pepper, Abbey, Help, Magical Mystery Tour, Revolver....all contain fascinating listening

I think those are the Anthology CDs from the documentary.
