Film and tv vehicles

name='ddock54']Does anybody own a vehicle once owned by a celebrity or that featured in any film/tv series.I know of the museum in keswick where many are on display ,but would be interested to know if any film star vehicles can be traced...not the trotter van though..how about the ufo cars or the prisoner moke that used to live in portmeirion, or marty hopkirks red mini.......jason kings bently..joe gladwins bike from the hovis ads ,they say the bond moonbuggy from diamonds are forever just turned up in a farmers field down south

My Mother in Law once owned a 1930's Hispano-Suiza that belonged to one of the Korda's. I think that it was Sir Alex Korda. She part exchanged it for a 1940Lagonda Rapide that was allegedly owned by a famous wartime RAF Air Marshal.

I can't say who, since we haven't been able to verify that claim yet. The logbook shows it to have been owned by the "Air Ministry"

name='mariocki']Yes, that Toyota looked good and takes pride of place in Toyota's museum. The Cars Of The Stars museum in Lancashire has one which although it wasn't used in the film, does have the centre console they used for the interior shots where they look at the TV screen. Incidentally, the Goldfinger DB5 wasn't the first time it had been seen on screen - it was used in an episode of The Saint prior to Bond or at least the plates were.



Brocket Hall is only a couple of miles from where I live and I run along the footpath that runs through the grounds fairly regularly. I haven't found any hidden Astons or Ferraris as yet. It was also used as a location for The Avengers and Inspector Morse as well as Highlander.

I live less than a mile from Brocket Hall. I used to be on speaking terms with good old 'Charlie' when he frequented my local in Lemsford. Quite the colourful character is he!

Somebody reported recently that one of the Astons from Goldfinger was stolen ,never to be seen again..thats going to be one hefty insurance claim....

I thought it was one of Aston's development cars? It certainly had a DP (Development Prototype) chassis number so it was one of the very first. How much of the chassis / body is interchangeable with a DB4 I can't say, but it had the larger DB5 engine.



The story goes that it was lent to Eon productions for filming as well as a second car without any gadgets for long shots, and a few interior panels so back projection scenes could be shot.



Then the car was returned to Aston Martin, the gadgets were removed in their workshop, the car was painted red and re-registered, effectively erasing its history.

Practical Classics magazine from time to time runs features on cars from tv series which have been restored by private buyers.In the last few years the Escort RS2000 and Capri from the Professionals and the original Ford Consul from the Sweeney have been featured.There is a colour documentary on the Adam Adamant dvd box set about the restoration of the Radford Mini driven by Gerald Harper in the series.(MMMMM Nice!).

we have seen the original chitty chitty bang bang at a car rally a few years ago when it belonged to the guy who doubled for Dick in the film. He bought it and showed it afterwards, it has a ford straight 6 engine and is an automatic.

Have pictures of young miss mallee standing next to the cabs from judge dread. these were mainly fibre glass bodies built on the landrover 101 forward control
