just watched "goblet of fire " and instantly recognised Eric Sykes at the begining .
wonder why they cast him for so small a part - any older gent would have done ?why under use a man like eric sykes ( and hes un credited too ?

I don't imagine he felt underused - he's sounds very proud of it in his autobiography. I guess they can afford to cast 'names' in every part eg Leslie Philips as the voice of the Sorting Hat so why not? I like the depth it gives the films. And I imagine Eric wouldn't be up to doing a larger part with proper lines given the fact that he's deaf and has serious sight problems now.
