The Devil Rides out,Quatermas & the Pit and The Hound of the Baskervilles are my faves.
I guess the films themselves were pretty good, just Donlevy I thought was badly cast.
The Devil Rides out,Quatermas & the Pit and The Hound of the Baskervilles are my faves.
I enjoyed most all Hammer Films as a child and always tried to catch the latest one when it poped up at our local theater.
I would say the Quatermass series , Abominable Snowman , X the Unknown were top shelf & as far as the Frankenstein & Dracula series , "Frankenstein Must be Destroyed" & Dracula Has Risen from The Grave" were my favorites
Quatermass And The Pit is my top Hammer film.
Also a big fan of the 1958 Dracula, Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (Cushing's nastiest Hammer role), Dr Jekyll & Sister Hyde, Hands Of The Ripper and Demons Of The Mind.
If for no other reason than its strong impact on my 13-year-old sensibilities, the 1958 Dracula (Horror of Dracula here) has to rate #1. It was the first horror film that I had seen in a theatre and in colour. I had seen most of the Universal classics on television.
