saturday 28 june proved a memorable day for Elstree Studios as 100 fans from the On The Buses fan club descended on the town for the day to visit location sites. the local bus company even put on a routemaster double decker bus service for the general public complete with conductor for just the normal fare.

then in the evening i had the pleasure to host an 80th anniversary tribute at the studio which included a surprise plaque unveiling with christopher lee and guest unveilers barbara shelley and francis matthews.

other guests included barry jackson, michael knowles, philip madoc, liz fraser, shirley anne field, valerie leon, shirley eaton, frank williams and others plus 180 members of the public and local vips.

then last night it was another great pleasure to sit next to richard todd at a special screening of 'The Dam Busters' . dispite his age and health Richard was in great form as was Christopher on saturday. They may be in their late 80s but both are as sharp as a pin and great gentlemen.
