Sounds like a great club you have going there Alan. I don't make films anymore myself, due to time constraints; but it would be a jollyfine pastime if I win the Lotto Having someone on hand with much experience, must be a great benefit. I have met many Hammer actors myself. not on a working level, just at film fairs/conventions etc. Ingrid was a joy to talk to, and she called it as she saw it, which was on many an occasion quite amusing.

There's nothing local in area, film club-wise. Although Whitby does have a Horror film festival yearly around October. it's only been going 3 years, I do support the event. Last year had a Hammer theme, and was the best so far. Fingers crossed it grows into a bigger event as time goes on, and more get to hear of it. We need something up this end of the country, it seems as if your into film you need to live down south...

I like 'Circus of Horrors' and frequently watch it. Anton Diffring is just so menacing !

    Hi Paul,
Just seen your last post. Whitby is referred in the book DRACULA. Perhaps that helps your festival.

    Wish you luck.

Please excuse me if you already know, but Circus of Horror's isn't a Hammer film, even though it has a few Hammer players in it. Without looking I'm sure it was done by Lynx films, who only did a hand-full of pictures.

It is a first rate film, as you rightly say...

It was actually an Anglo Amalgamated film. They also did Jack the Ripper and Horrors of the Black Museum. I agree with your comments about it being a first rate film. I even like the song "Look for a Star"

Jack the Ripper is credited to a company called Mid Century which was set up by Monty Berman/Robert Baker as an umbrella for the films they were doing for Regal Films. Not an Anglo Film.

Circus of Horrors is credited to Lynx but was financed by Anglo and made by Independent Artists. I think Payroll is also credited to Lynx.

Anglo films were also made under the name of Alta Vista Productions - which I think was set up for films co-financed by Anglo and AIP.

I'm glad for the good citizens of Hemel Hempstead that your Hammer tribute finishes before the witching hour Alan, you never know who might pay a visit...

    Hi,
Just seen your good wishes. Thankyou. I was careful. I was not attacked by anything strange after the presentation. I am now suffering from Vampiritus. Seeing the doctor next week. Dentist this week. See if she can do any thing about the two pointed teeth I have grown over the weekend. Heh! Heh!
