Default best geordie film

I suppose there are some great stories in the North East that will never get to screen. Catherine Cookson's books ., in particular The Fifteen Streets was a fine film with a good cast. Purely Belter was another good one. Like Father was very good too. Anyone got any favourites to share?

Hindle Wakes was set in the North-West as opposed to the North-East.

Start every day with a smile and get it over with.

Isn't that the film where none of the actors has a Geordie accent?

Default Get Carter

I think GET CARTER does Geordieland well because it captures the old town and the way things were decaying just before it was all swept away. It also has some good Newcastle based performers, although strange that no one noticed the lead had completely lost his accent. However this was repaid when Alan Price took over the role of Alfie in "Alfie Darling".

I suppose the best Geordie film (after Get Carter) is really Geordie (1955) with Alastair Sim and Bill Travers. But that's nothing to do with Geordieland around Newcastle. The Geordie of the title is Scottish!
