SONGS OF PRAISE (21/11/10), now at BBC iPlayer, features the favourite hymns of J. Arthur Rank.

There are clips from the premiere of LONDON BELONGS TO ME (1948), at the Leicester Square Theatre, and THE WICKED LADY (1945) - a film with a "moral message" reflecting Lord Rank's Methodist beliefs.

Yes, I saw it on Sunday and thought it was excellent and very interesting with all those vintage views of old cinemas and cinema foyers and Libera were perfect as always with their beautiful rendition of Eternal Light.

    J. Arthur Rank was born for greatness with a truly great name. I don't think he would have made it if he'd had the misfortune to be born with a name such as Cuthbert J. Higginbottom. But J. Arthur Rank? What a fabulous name worth banging a gong for!

Shame it won't be repeated so I can tape it

But I will make do with seeing it on iPlayer!

Sorry but I thought the title was a commentary in Cockney rhyming slang.
