I thought i would start a new Thread to see which Robin Hood film (out of the four Robin Hood films made by Hammer Studios) is Brit Movie Members favourite Robin Hood Hammer film, can Brit Movie Members also list the four Robin Hood Hammer films in order of favouritism (their own personal choices), i have listed the four Robin Hood films made by Hammer Studios below.

2 Sword Of Sherwood Forest (1960)
    3 A Challenge For Robin Hood (1967)
4 Wolfshead: The Legend Of Robin Hood (1969)

In the four Robin Hood Hammer films, Robin Hood was played by Don Taylor (1954), Richard Greene (1960), Barrie Ingham (1967) and David Warbeck (1969).

I don't know about the best, but the worst is an easy choice - Wolfshead every time
The only reason I ever watched it was to see how Kathleen Byron did in it

They're all prety bad, but if I was forced to choose one to save from the proverbial house fire it would be Sword of Sherwood Forest purely for Peter Cushing's performance as the evil Sheriff of Nottingham.

It would be nice to see some positive comments about The Men Of Sherwood Forest, Sword Of Sherwood Forest and A Challenge For Robin Hood, i agree that Wolfshead: The Legend Of Robin Hood wasn't a very good film, Wolfshead: The Legend Of Robin Hood would definitely be bottom on my list of the Robin Hood Hammer films in order of favouritism, The Men Of Sherwood Forest would be third on my list, i haven't yet made my mind up which would be first on my list out of Sword Of Sherwood Forest and A Challenge For Robin Hood, i liked both Richard Greene and Barrie Ingham's performances as Robin Hood in Sword Of Sherwood Forest and A Challenge For Robin Hood.

James Hayter who played Friar Tuck in A Challenge For Robin Hood also played the same character in The Story Of Robin Hood And His Merrie Men (1952), John Arnatt who played the Sheriff Of Nottingham in A Challenge For Robin Hood appeared in many episodes of the 1950's TV series The Adventures Of Robin Hood (which starred Richard Greene as Robin Hood), in most of the episodes of The Adventures Of Robin Hood that John Arnatt appeared in he played the Deputy Sheriff Of Nottingham, John Harvey who played Wallace in A Challenge For Robin Hood also appeared in the 1950's TV series The Adventures Of Robin Hood, he appeared in several episodes.

The thing I remember about the 1967 film, was the aircraft vapour trails in the sky.

No contest for me. "Sword of Sherwood Forest" . Cushing, Pasco, Greene,MacGinnes,Nesbitt, and Nigel Green as Little John. Even Denis Lotis puts in an appearance having escaped from "The City of the Dead".

With Richard Greene as Robin it's just wrong that the Sheriff should played by anyone other than Alan Wheatley

Below is a screencap of a scene from A Challenge For Robin Hood, in the distance you can see a car driving past, something which clearly would not have existed in Robin Hood's time, you can see the scene on YouTube (which is where i found out about the car appearing in A Challenge For Robin Hood).
