I just got this in the mail today - it's been a long time since I've seen a good comedy like this. Torin's wonderful in it (NICE chest!) as well as Jessie Matthews and Michael Redgrave. I know I will enjoy watching this again and again. :)

The very best of Jesse Matthews was a few years earlier. After you've seen THERE GOES the BRIDE, the MAN from TORONTO, FIRST a GIRL, and EVERGREEN, you'll rethink your views on CLIMBING HIGH.

Jessie had an affair with Carol Reed the director and they were found in the act by her husband Sonnie Hale with predictable consequences.

BTW Carol Reed is Oliver's father. Sonny Hale may have gone overbudget on CLIMBING HIGH forcing the produicers to bring in Reed to salvage the project, but Reed did more than just shag Jesse; he shagged the film by deleting all of Jesse's songs and dance. Does anyone know if the rushes survived?
