Channel 5, 11ish, "A Better Way To Die"
A film that is right up there with John Carpenter's 1976, 'Assault on Precinct 13'. A modern fable. It's been on freeview channels several times, which is where I saw it first. Of course if the 1976 'Assault on Precinct 13' is your idea of movie hell, then you'll know to give Channel 5 a wide berth tonight......

I dipped into it a few times and it seems to be much more like a soap opera than a serious drama. It was just set a hundred years ago Steve |

![]() I find the historical ones okay, whereas I cannot stomach the real ones (whatever the different channels call them... Emergency Ward 10?). Having said that, I expect they will plumb it to it's absolute depths and make it as detestable as all the others eventually. The Ultra-violet ward was quite interesting. Have to research that one.

Yep, there's three episodes
![]() Just think of what this could be the start of: Eastenders 1896. The story of nouveau-riche East End folk settling into their new-build suburban villas. Complete with pub named after our beloved monarch, a bagwash laundry, horse-and-cart lot and an eels 'n' pie caff. Characters come and go but finally leave the square in a Hansom cab. Coronation Street 1903. No change |
