Not British exactly: I just had an old VHS copy of The NZ film The Navigator put onto DVD. I hope it's survived.
Otherwise it's more John Gregson in Gideon's Way.

Is the Navigator the Medieval time-travel one? I thought that was great especially the crossing the road sequence.

That's the one. I've not seen it, despite having had the VHS for many years.
Actually, if it doesn't play I think I'll watch some Catweazle!

I know the problem Stevie and here is the solution to it.

Have you inserted the DVD into the player at all ? as that helps to see the film.

There's a lot of dignity in that, isn't there? Going out like a raspberry ripple.

Hey Stevie
Watch out for the scene with the stuffed cat......it's a screamer.

I just bought "Circus of fear" & "One of our aircraft is missing".(on DVD)

Only cost me $2(australian) each, from a bargain basement shop.

Not bad quality either!

Absolutely right.
I once lost a bet - many moons ago - that Shelley Winters rather than Simone was in Les Diaboliques. They could both be pretty intimidating when they were in full cry, and I don't think I did either of them an injustice by mixing them up.

Lost the bet though.

Vera Clouzot is also excellent in Les Diaboliques ... she was cute too.

Having watched The Wild Duck last night, tonight I'm looking forward to Hedda Gabler with Ingrid Bergman, Michael Redgrave and Trevor Howard.

All the best
