Morley's book is the better written but to me both books were reasonably sympathetic to their subject. Alot of Morley's content was speculation (it always is with him - he just doesn't let the reader know) and Lords' is better researched from that point of view. Neither are hagiographies and neither hachett jobs - just written in different eras. I think people have been harsh on the Lord bio - the info missing from Morley's book on Hjordis is necessary for a full picture and I feel he is relatively neutral - others judge her in quotes (Robert Wagner/Roger Moore) but I don't feel that Lord is especially unfair to her himself.
