Default Bond, Carry On and Hammer Stamps

Royal Mail are to issue a set of James Bond stamps next month with further sets featuring the Carry On and Hammer films later in the year. I'll be interested to see what images they use for the Carry On set.

The rule used to be that no living person apart from the monarch, or their immediate family, could appear on a British stamp. I am sure that rule has since been broken, so Barbara Windsor is a possability on the Carry On stamps!

Start every day with a smile and get it over with.

What about Charles Hawtrey dressed as Lady Something-or-Other from Carry On Again Doctor? He'd look just like a Queen on the Carry On stamps!

YSL x.

I really liked the Peter Sellers set from a few years back. Should be worth seeing.

Talking Stamps for Carry On and Hammer Films

Dear Friends

Please note that Royal Mail will issue six stamps commemorating Carry On and Hammer Films on 10 June. This marks the 50th birthday of Carry On and the 50th birthday of Hammer's Dracula. The specific movies honoured are: Carry On Sergeant, Carry On Cleo; Carry On Screaming and The Curse of Frankenstein (1957), Dracula (1958) and The Mummy (1959). Very fine screen printing permits all text to be legible on the postage stamps! For a sneak preview go to www.royalmail.com/info. Alternatively visit www.royalmail.com/stamps from approx 7 June. Enjoy!

Philip
