Not particularly famous but I always liked the actor Edwin Richfield, so I was delighted to be introduced to him by my brother when he was working for the RSC in London. He came into the pub after the show at the Domar Warehouse along with the actress, Janine Duvitski, they'd both been appearing in a very black comedy, Hansel & Gretal. Edwin was charming and said he thought the audience were very good that night!

Not really an actor but I've met the singer Mike d'Abo on many occasions. He was always great fun and had many stories. He did say he was denied the opportunity of appearing in There's a Girl in My Soup because the Boultings ruled he could not write the score *and* star in the film. Nicky Henson got the role.

One of my favourite B movie actors, Edwin was very good in The Brain Machine.

Ray Harryhausen, an officer and a gentleman, he always took to time and trouble to explain how his technique worked and to show his models to you.

Corbett had a well publicised incident when a TV company sent a Renault Scenic to pick him up for an appearance and angrily he refused to budge until a Rolls turned up.

BM did alot of charitable work and those I know who met him in that context spoke well of him.

Thats the joke that killed the Music Hall !

You should have said you were Welsh to see how she'd react then

If I met her, apart from the Welsh question, I'd ask how she manages to get away with being quizmaster (or mistress) on The Weakest Link when she obviously doesn't know much and if the answer given is valid but doesn't say what's on her card then she thinks it's wrong

I did hear once, when I was a child, that Corbett wasn't very pleasant. One of my father's friends belonged to I think a golf club that Corbett frequented and he said he wasn't very approachable.

A friend got Corbett to do a voice-over for a student film for free, which was awfully decent of him. I'm sure he has good and bad days, like the rest of us.

Yes I'm sure you are right and perhaps we shouldn't really throw stones. There must be people who know me who say she's a moody old bag at times. But as I'm not famous who cares so I get away with it. But for the poor old celebs there's know where to hide!

William G Stewart is a very nice man. I met him on three occasions, the first time I auditioned for 15-1 and the two occasions I appeared on the programme. On entering the dark studio with limited light was quite daunting, but as soon William G came on,my fears went away. He met everyone, chatted and when you got to the programme final (the final three - I am not being big headed, just stating a fact),he made more conversation with you.
An under used man in television (which could be volentary I suppose) who colud bring back one of the best quiz programmes in television.
