Default Horror films not seen on TV in decades

Can anyone think of any old horror films (British or otherwise) that have not had a TV airing in twenty years or more?

How about 'Haunted House of Horror' (1969). Have not seen that since the 1970s, and I'd love to see it again!

I vaguely remember seeing a film called Medusa (I think anyway) about a man with telekinetic powers. Haven't seen it for years. I think it was British. Anyone remember it?

edit. -have found it on The Medusa Touch (1978)

I most certainly do Bruin, it is shown now and again on TV, but with so many channels these days if hard to keep up with it all!

It's a good Movie, but technically it's of it's time, ie; it's obvious Dummys and Models are used in some scenes, Bristol Cathedral stood in for Westminster Abbey too!

Cheers Mark. I saw it when I was nine or ten I think and it made quite an impression on me. I'll keep an eye out for it but you're spot on about the high number of channels making it difficult to keep track about what's on.

The American films featuring Count Yorga were pretty good, not seen these for a while.

I think Haunted House of Horror turned up a couple of times on the BBC in the 1990s, and turned out to be absolutely terrible.

Count Yorga reappeared unexpectedly on the ITV network around the same time in a different edit entitled The Loves of Count Yorga, reflecting the film's original genesis as a soft porn film. It was never released as such, and reverted to a serious horror movie.

Population Zero with Oliver Reed although more a sci-fi film, Crowhaven farm, Tales that witness Madness, Dark Places, the house that would not die. Most of these films have not been shown in more than 20 years some even longer a shame really that we have so many great horrors and all we seem to get is repeats of the same ones. I could name dozens more shame.

The Blood Beast Terror

Peter Cushing and Wanda Ventham as his daughter that keeps changing in to a giant moth!

A cult classic - haven't seen that for a while on TV.

Tower of Evil with James Bolam has never turned up on TV to the best of my knowledge and likewise Devil's Disciple an obscure early seventies effort with Mike Raven, Ronald Lacey and Louise Jameson. The later seems to be similarly themed to Blood On Satan's Claw and although the reviews I've read say it is awful I'd still be very interested to see it.

I don't get the commercial channels in mainland Europe, only the beeb. Still, greatful for small mercies and all that.
I know they tend to reshow the same brit horrors in a two year cycle, a couple I haven't seen on the beeb for years would be 'Fright', 'Plague of the Zombies' and 'Hands Of The Ripper'. Perhaps these get an airing on five of the ITV networks, I don't know, but I would definitely like to see them again.

Incidently, I managed to d/l a copy of 'Tales That Witness Madness' (not available to purchase in digital format) a while back and it was a taped off of BBC Scotland back in the eighties.

Strange but the German channels ZDF and Ard do seem to show a lot of old Brit films, but they dub everything into Deutch...which is terrible.

The beeb and TCM are the only real chance to see Brit horrors on the telly these days.

Its actually called “Disciple of Death”. I have it on tape, and yes, its diabolically bad.

Half of the things we watch are bad but we still watch them.

Tower of Evil was shown in the 1990s on TV (have seen it twice, very late at night). Do not remember James Bolam therein (though I could be mistaken). Dennis Price popped up in it (one of his last films??). A pretty entertaining effort, provided you're not too demanding.

Just remembered another one I'd like to see again. 'The Shuttered Room' (1967), with Ollie Reed in a supporting role as the leader of a Cornish gang of thugs.

One of the reasons I'd like to see 'Haunted House of Horror' again is because of its cheese factor.
