Has anyone seen this? Thinking about getting it but just wanna know what it is like. It has Wilfred Bramble in it.

It was a BBC play ... I haven't seen it but it's available on DVD.

It's still the only screen version of the book I've seen that I've had any time for. Jonathan Miller chucked out the animal costumes and had the characters played as standard Victorian eccentrics. Mostly I found it worked (especially Leo McKern as the Duchess), though Peter Sellers seemed out of place.

I'd recommend it, at least to go on till the Tim Burton version gets made.

Don't expect lots of fancy animal costumes but there were clearly a lot of 'very strong cigarettes' available in Shepherds Bush in the mid 1960s.
