Maybe they could abandon the classically handsome Bond-stereotype and choose a middle-aged actor who has style but a kind of "everyman" appeal? Considering those attributes how about a slimmed-down Ray Winstone?? Before you laugh, remember we all seem in agreement that the franchise needs a little re-tooling and a left field actor could re-discover what used to be Bond's greatest attribute-CHARM! Not narcissistic preening.

There are rumours that Orlando Bloom (Legolas in LOTR) has signed the dotted line. Any takers on this? I think he is too young myself.

Is this Bloom fellow a Brit?? What else has he done? I'd like to say to Marky B that I totally agree with Clive Owen as a choice. This guy has the Bond-aesthetic but he's a bit left-of-center as well. All the makings of a fine modern Bond. Now...how about a screenplay from David Mamet (The Heist) and David Fincher (Seven,Fightclub)as director??? That should do away with the recent view of Bond movies as overproduced advertisements for B.M.W. motorcycles! (They used shots from the last film in their ad campaign) Cheers
