For this an 'oldie' presenter like Dennis Norden would be better suited......why don't they ask him ?
Don't necessarily agree that you need someone 'old' to talk about 'old' films - Norden I find irritating and unfunny, if undeniably knowledgeable. Sweet, as others are beginning to acknowledge, possibly has another agenda here and an unfortunate tendency to the trashy end of things, hardly better than the dreaded Jonathan Ross, but as both are now ensconsed as BBC 'Men of the Movies' along with Andrew Collins, I fear we are stuck with them

Actually, I was thinking it was beginning to be Mark Kermode...which would also be fine.

Anyone who can get the Guardian to publish a two page article about Charters and Caldicott, complete with proper research and everything, can do no wrong in my eyes. Though it was sadly lacking in salacious gossip...

<< Mark Kermode....>>
Surely the most irritating man on UK television !

Every comment is delivered with a sneer......as his fave movies are THE EXORCIST, WICKER MAN and BLUE VELVET (plus the latest 'trendy' offerings) Commode would be ill-equipped to present a programme on vintage British B movies - he would be like young Matthew, but far, far worse, rubbishing anything that is not of the horror genre or to his trendy tastes.......
