Oliver and summer holiday for me.
I just seen the new walkers ad and it reminded me i not watched summer holiday for ages, and as i am off sick, i will have to get a copy and slob out for a few hours.

Oliver! and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for me too.
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is pretty good too benefitting from a fine John Barry/Don Black soundtrack.

I know we play fast and loose with the definition - but in what sense could Hair be described as a BRITISH musical?

The film is great - one of my favourite "recent" musicals - but not British.

A lot of the films we're quoting are of dubious Britishness. MFL has a British cast and subject based on a play by a British/Irish writer. I'll go with it!

When I was doing some screen shots from Victim in Location, Location, Location I came across this shot of Oliver! at the New Theatre (now the Noel Coward). The orginal London prduction I guess.

I can still remember going to the cinema with some pals and coming away humming those great tunes for days. Though today when I watch it I feel a tinge of sadness for the loss of Ollie and poor Jack Wild, so tragic.
