Hard to see anything beating Oliver! but Tommy is a close contender.
And if Ken Russell had directed Jesus Christ Superstar rather than Norman Jewison... The Wicker Man is also worth a mention although it isn't often classified as such. |

Mary Poppins is great but just how British is it ? Filmed totally in Warners, Burbank Studios.
I was never taken in by Dick van Dyke and his "cockaneee" accent. LOL. To his credit he did recently say that he had to work so hard on the dance routines that he just didn't have time to get his accent anywhere near. I think "Half a Sixpence" was a pretty good effort. "Gawd bless ya Moory Poppinnnsssss"
