I gave some thought to James Mason who at first seems ideal. Then as Sir George Wheeler in Huston's "MACKINTOSH MAN" 1973, General Count Von Klugermann in "THE BLUE MAX" 1966, Rupert of Hentzeu in "THE PRISONER OF ZENDA" 1952 and Captain Nemo in "20000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA" 1954 his politics do seem a tad flaky. Then again if you add the morality of Humbert Humbert in "LOLITA" 1962 he comes floating right back to the top.
