Default Home at Seven

For ages I have been wanting to see Home at Seven with Ralph Richardson. I checked the BFI 's site it showed the film as last screened in 1984. My mum is nearly 84 and I went round to help her clear out a few things, including some old VHS s of (to my tastes at least) old sugary Hollywood Musicals. In amongst them was a Cassette labelled 'Home at Seven' . I was sure that if she had recorded it, it would have no opening titles or have been over recorded by 'The Wizard of Oz'. But no, the whole film was complete in glorious monochrome, recorded in excellent quality on her Sony machine !

I loved the film, it gripped me as much as it did when I last saw it yonks ago and it even managed to keep my wife awake to the end. So folks if you are lucky enough to still have parents check their loftspaces, you too may discover cinematic treasure!
