It's a Wonderful Life (1946) Delightful film even if the sweetness is laid on a tad thick.
Crossplot (1969) Great film to just lay back and enjoy without thinking too much about it, okay it might not be brilliant but Roger Moore is in fine form so what more is required? Enigma (2001) I thoroughly enjoyed this, Dougray Scott was not an actor I was familiar with, but he is excellent in the lead here along with lovely Kate Winslet and a superbly smarmy Jeremy Northam. Part love story, part mystery and war story and it does not fail on any level. |

The Saint episode The Abductors from 1965 with Dudley Foster as a hissable vilain with a dodgy Welsh accent, Robert Urquhart as a drunk, Nicholas Courtney as the villain's henchman with a sideline in strangling, Anthony Chin as a Chinese spy, and Annette Andre as totty of the week.
Oh, and Roger Moore. |

INDISCREET - Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman in a rather drawn out - and therefore tedious - simple romantic comedy. Difficult to build up any sympathy for either of the lead characters as they are broadly drawn as shallow as selfish. The film's only redeeming feature is a supporting cast of British stalwarts including Phyllis Calvert, Cecil Parker (great as the wry brother-in-law) and David Kossoff (sublimely manic in the 'jealousy' scene).
Not one of Stanley Donen's finest moments... Smudge |

The Yellow Balloon (1953) DVD-R. Rather good drama with young Andrew Ray giving an excellent performance, fascinating social aspects too with Constable Bernard Lee called sir by street entertainers, and no bathroom in the Ray flat. William Sylvester is good as nasty Len as Kenneth More and Kathleen Ryan are as the boys parents.
