Danny Dyer gives possibly the worst performance by a professional actor I've ever seen.
I agree, it was absolutely appalling!! The back story of the main characters wasn't explained clearly so it was hard to care about what had happened to them. Added to this is the fact that all of them seemed to be deeply unpleasant people and some of the performances were sub-sub-standard. I've never been a fan of Danny Dyer but he was worse than I've ever seen him in anything else.

It was unnecessarily gory and unpleasant too with lingering shots of decayed body parts and other forensic-related work. Other similar shows manage to incorporate this aspect of police work without doing it in this exploitative way.

All round, really disappointing. So bad that I wouldn't watch any more of it if there's a series - and that's saying something as I'll happily watch anything along these lines!

The recent St Trinians which really wasn't half-bad. If I were a Young Person I think I'd have enjoyed it more than the original. Rupert Everett gave two great performances, there were some excellent cameos and the updating of the pupils' mayhem worked very well. I was pleasantly surprised.

Agreed. Me and Mrs B found it a real struggle to get through. I think we can charitably chalk it up to a failed attempt to tell a police procedural story in a different way.

Shame, as I've liked Louise Lombard snce her early 90s appearence in Chancer.

Haven't seen her in anything since *ahem* Talos the Mummy. I'd wondered what happened to her...

She quit acting for a time to complete her education (I believe she studied at Cambridge). then she worked in America for a while, with a regular role in one of the CSI type series.

She was the female lead in a very good short film The Call (2005)
I stumbled across it when they used it as a filler on Film 4.
It's still available to see on the Film 4 web site and is (IMO) well worth spending the 12 minutes it takes to watch it.

Click on where it says Watch video low or high resolution

A young man is visiting friends in North London. But they aren't in and on his way back he hears a mobile phone ringing under a hedge so he picks it up and answers it. After the initial surprise, the woman at the other end of the phone seems very nice and appears to be intent on seducing him. But this is a short story with a violent twist in the tale.

Good plot, very good for a short. Well filmed, good direction.
I was most impressed and I've been nudging people towards it whenever I get the chance

Sadly I don't see any sign of any other work from the director or cinematographer. The writer has got one other project in development, but who knows if it'll come to anything.

The young man has done some episodes of The Bill, Spooks and Holby City, just like every other struggling actor

Demons Of The Mind (1972) I found this rather dull to be honest, even Robert Hardy and Patrick Magee were pretty restrained by their standards. Not helped by Paul Jones who was less than charismatic as the leading man, Michael Horden gave it his all though. You could learn enough by just watching the trailer and saving yourself 80 minutes.

Last night I watched an Edgar Wallace Mystery Film from 1961 entitled The Fourth Square starring Conrad Phillips, Delphi Lawrence, Natasha Parry, Paul Daneman, Basil Digan, Anthony Newlands, Harold Kasket, Jacqueline Jones, Barrie Ingham and Miriam Karlin. Another enjoyable Edgar Wallace mystery film concerning jewel robbery.

My least favourite ITC action show (apart from The Adventurer), but I'd watch it for Patricia Haines.

SUNSHINE - Courtesy of Sky Premiere.

Starts well, but lapses into a 'body count' all too soon, and not for particularly good reason. I confess that I was Zzzz well before the end...

Revisiting my childhood with Arthur of The Britons ....great 70's TV swashbuckler from HTV, but with ITC production values....superb 70's cast, Oliver Tobias, Michael Gothard (Fresh from The Devils) Brian Blessed, Jack Warden, with guests Rupert Davies, Mike Pratt, Clive Revill etc....and gloriously overblown music from Elmer Bernstein and Paul Lewis, the latter I've met a few times recently, and he never told me he was involved in this !! The DVD is great to have...the prints are unrestored, but it's just great to see again. It was a bit of a shock to see that the minstrel on the crwth-type thing was Fred Wedlock though....

Bit of a Bay Window, what??
