I meant I am about halfway through the final series .... he's just about to jump ship to Chertsey. If you mean the cute blonde in the antiques I quite liked her. I think the last series is the best of the lot .... the stories are stronger and Marker is much more vulnerable and therefore a more interesting character. Faces in the Dark (1960) Excellent psychological drama starring John Gregson and Mia Zetterling. Yet another film that seems to have fallen through the cracks, and seemingly not shown for years
![]() Another Public Eye fan here, I just wish that more episodes survived from the earlier years. What a superb performance by Alfred Burke. Last edited by Harbottle; 17-06-2008 at 08:59 PM.. |

![]() We're down to the last two of the final series here and a note of desperation crept into her voice when she said the above after last night's screening. Then she followed that up with the eminently sensible suggestion that we'll just have to watch them ALL, all over again.... (Now you can see why I married her! )Smudge |

The Night of the Big Heat - disapointing Terence Fisher entry with Lee and Cushing from the same production company as Island of Terror. Not quite as weak as the other one but it does show that away from Hammer and the gothic Fisher was all at sea.
Horrors of the Black Museum - gruesome little horror saved by a great performance by Michael Gough (who seemed to specialise in that genre at the time) and brisk action due due to short running time. Daft but not unlikeable. |

The Man Who Finally Died
An engaging thriller set in post-war Germany as East and West fight over the Nazi's finest scientists. Stanley Baker stars as the son of a Nazi officer who returns to Germany unsure whether his father is dead or alive. Strong support comes from Peter Cushing, Eric Portman, Nigel Green and Mai Zetterling. |
