Was that the John Duttine series from 1981? Great series and John's a very good actor. Not overly flashy, just very good

Yes, the John Duttine 1981 series. Very well done. I like the radio series as well, all of which are better than the mutant 1963 film. Did anyone discover if those filmmakers had suffered from a comet-plagued night? Maybe they were struck more dumb than before? I like the film for what it is, but I could certainly add in a few Ray Harryhausen monsters for the lighthouse vignette (oh wait - Harryhausen's already done that! Darn...)

I hope that, when THE DUM BUSTERS has completed its remake, we'll be able to have a new 28 TRIFFID DAYS LATER film.

Since the triffids are fans of head-shots, would they be able to handle the zombies? Would "thosuands of triffids" handle "thousands of zombies"?

And wouldn't this be more healthy for the environment - none of those stinking corpses or needless make-up artists wandering about sets, milling thru crowds saying, "You'd make a great zombie!"

If these filmmakers are REALLY smart, however, they'd combine all three projects - 28 TRIFFID DAYS LATER that would be down-river of those dams they're trying to blow up.

Wouldn't that be a much better idea? No one would even have to worry about a dog's name - he'd have probably been devoured by triffids!

Mary Jane's is really the only one in Cromer you can try without risking life and limb - well, you might loose the odd limb in the scrum when they are busy ... Although I recommend going either up or down the coast to Mundesley or Sheringham where two brothers have their respective chippys and they are absolutely the best in North Norfolk ... sadly, though, there is no film connection

No I'm not in Spain, dear, I'm in agony, that's where I am!

There's also a very good chippie in Walcott. I agree with you about the Sheringham and Mundesley chippies. Mundesley is the place to get fat .... the New Sage is an absolutely brilliant Chinese!

And after a drive like that, even without the damage, the chips would be cold by the time you got them home

If you got them from Monroe's they'd be cold before you got them out of the shop!

Is the Magpie the cafe just over the bridge on the castle side?

Magpie is opposite side to the abbey, near the fish market. That is IF they still land fish in Whitby under current EC regulations...

I think I know where you mean .... not too far from the Dracula Museum?

The one I was thinking on the abbey side of does some really nice 'traditional' meals and is near to a very good second hand bookshop.
