After a long day of DVD indexing/working I flopped out last thing last night in front of the very first episode of the old Thames TV sitcom AND MOTHER MAKES THREE...
Now this is one of the things I distinctly remember as being whole family viewing at the time of transmission and as soon as that familiar music started the years rolled back; I was a nipper again, sprawled in front of the chunky old B&W set, being told off for getting too close to the screen! A whole host of memories came back all at once.
Back in 2008 I enjoyed the episode - predominantly for that fuzzy nostalgia feeling - but couldn't believe how 'slight' it was, particularly for a series opening. Whilst I still regard it with much affection, I am surprised that this was (even then) peak-time viewing. Perhaps it will pick up if I watch a few more...
