I believe it was Jackie Rae who was married to Janette Scott from 1959-1965.

THE SPIDER AND THE FLY with the excellent Eric Portman. A good film and unusual enough to stick in the memory I would say. Hattie Jacques is supposed to appear in it, could'nt spot her though.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (1936)

There are not many thrills in this hoary 1930s retelling of the famous horror story. Tod Slaughter’s scenery-chewing interpretation may well have pulled in the punters in the theatre, but here in close-up and seventy-two years later, it borders on the ridiculous. The rest of the cast, which includes a twenty-six-year-old Bruce Seton, rarely rise above being adequate and the direction by George 'king of quota quickies' King adds no polish to the proceedings. At a running time of sixty-five minutes, it is mercifully soon over. Recommended only for the curious, even the pies look unappetising!

Conflict of Wings, attractive Group 3 production set in Batman's home territory (our Batman, not the Gotham City one!) of Norfolk. Good Eastmancolor makes the scenery look wonderful. Nice performances, among others, from the gorgeous Muriel Pavlow with John Gregson his usual solid dependable self, Kieron Moore and Niall MacGinnis, and even my old favourite Guy Middleton.

However, in the scenes by the beach, even the delectable Miss Pavlow is overshadowed (!) in the swimsuit stakes by a supporting actress I hadn't ever heard of, Sheila Sweet.

Interesting scenes of jet aircraft of the first half of the 1950's (Meteors and Vampires, with possibly a Hawker Hunter in there as well).

Gloster Meteor:

De Havilland Vampire:

All very nostalgic. I know the main scenes were shot around Cley-next-the-Sea along the North Norfolk coast - does anyone know where the airfield scenes were taken? RAF Marham?

Conflict of Wings (1954)

Has a wonderful American title, "Fuss over Feathers"!

Fish on the Hook, Dangerman episode, strange to think of John Drake at 80. Peter Bowles & Dawn Adams were both good in this

Not really. I think Belly of An Architect is a superb film but the rest do nothing for me at all.
