This afternoon really:
Spring and Port Wine - a delight once again. Followed by England thrashing Wales - though Susan George's legs were nicer FELL

Ronnie Barker's SEVEN OF ONE.
Quite a mixed bag, but I would say that at first sight there was far more potential in PRISONER & ESCORT than OPEN ALL HOURS. OAH certainly benefitted from re-casting Nurse Gladys... SMUDGE

Gorged myself on :
Cash On Demand The Runaway Bus Tales That Witness Madness While lying on my electic blanket attempting to soothe a dodgy back. Well the feast helped and probably better for than taking a few pain killers. Enjoyed them all |

Do try and see it. The CGI's gone overboard, but to great effect. Also, there are a number of references to the 1953 version, not least that Gene Barry is in it (near the end). IMDB has loads of other reminders of this as well. I'd be interested to know what you think of the film.

Watched HAWKINS again, the 2004 telemovie about the early years of Stephen Hawkins life and his amazing scientific discoveries.
Benedict Cumberbatch (great name!) was brilliant as Stephen Hawkins. Dave. |

A Matter of Choice (1963)
An interesting story, a joint venture by Derren Nesbitt and Vernon Sewell. Showcasing the inter-twining lives of a number of characters, one of whom is played by Ballard Berkeley. **EDIT** Gosh, that was a terse post Mind you, my dinner was ready So I was side-tracked |

Ring of Spies (1963) An old favourite which I have just had a chance to view again thanks MoEW Fine film in my view with always excellent Bernard Lee getting a juicy role in centre stage, and how well he plays it; also excellent performances from Margaret Tyzack and William Sylvester (small role as the photographer played by Brian Nissen who for many years I recall was as an on screen continuity announcer on Southern/TVS). Based on the true story of the infamous Portland Spy Ring, and how well it’s told, no nonsense but completely holding the viewers interest.
Nice one Sam You are a brave man arty, personally I avoid chiropractic treatment which is altogether too frightening in my book I prefer the effective treatment of the electric blanket and a few good films |
