Default New Bond film

According to today's Daily Express, the next Bond film will be Casino Royale, and the new Bond (yet to be announced) will be a lot more harder and less reliant on gadgets (which could mean,I think, there will be no John Cleese playing Q/Basil Fawlty).

I tend to take such articles with a pinch of salt, as from previous ecperience they tend to be cobbled together from old rumours. This sounds suspiciously like the old story of Quentin Tarantino's attempt to direct Casino Royal for Eon Productions (which was completely true) reheated.

The pressure from MGM/UA has been to make the films more spectacle and stunt-based (as if that were possible after Die Another Day).

As ever, we'll see some time in 2005/6 - my money's on either Ioan Gruffud or Dougray Scott.

Whatever,I still think Pierce Brosnan has been treated shabbily by Eon. He was perhaps the most successful Bond,so why not give him a good swansong.

Agreed. I thought his performance was excellent and he definately had another Bond film in him.
