Default Went The Day Well

I managed to pick up two copies of this yesterday - for only one exposure to the DM !

I'd be happy to post the spare to anyone collecting these films who missed getting it yesterday.

Just post a reply (to save me being inundated), and send me your address via PM.

Grand film I shall be watching it [from a tv recording, I hasten to add] this afternoon prior to TEHL - if I finish cutting the grass in time!

All the best

Yes, more films to collect!

"Due to unprecendented demand, we are offering 7 Classic War Movies for every reader, starting next Saturday (26th Apr). Full details will be in next week's DM & MoS"

The Films are:
Carve Her Name With Pride
Malta Story
We Dive at Dawn
49th Parallel
The Lion has Wings
Appointment in London
The Way Ahead

I am not sure if this will be the same WH Smith/Tesco pick up or collect the tokens and send off for the DVD's.

The only query I have is that' in the two DMs I have purchased so far this week, both show TLATSATT before IWMD. Which sequence is correct? Anybody know?
From today's Mail, it looks like I Was Monty's Double will be first.

Additional seven films starting next Saturday:
  • Carve Her Name With Pride
  • Malta Story
  • We Dive At Dawn
  • 49th Parallel
  • The Lion Has Wings
  • Appointment in London
  • The Way Ahead

The Lion has Wings seems an odd choice. It's only about 76 minutes long rather than the more usual 90 minutes of a feature film. It was a rushed job, the whole thing being put together in under a month. And it's much more documentary in style for most of the film and is fairly much pure propaganda.

The free DVD in the Mail on Sunday will definitely be Escape to Athena so everyone can have a lie-in tomorrow morning.

There's a coupon in today's paper to send away for the 14-DVD collection (P&P £6.99, or £9.99 with presentation case), enclosing eight different tokens.

It would be a bit daft to do this now, because the full 21-DVD collection could be had for 12 tokens. (P&P might be more than £6.99, though.)

More details about the bonus films next Saturday.

Well, I just went into local Tescos, asked if they'd sent back this week's DVDs and was given the lot for free! No Mail required! (& they were complaining at how many boxes they'd been sent!)

Escape to Athena is absolute crap. At least the cast had a well paid holiday on Rhodes.

What a sickener.........

I picked up my copy of the Sunday Mail no DVD just a CD of that carrot top from Denton ( Manchester).

Oh! woe is me................ it seems they didn't put it in the plastic bag with the afore mentioned CD and dozen magazines and leaflets the purchaser still has to collect it from Tesc's etc so today I have doubled my carbon footprint 'cos I've had to drive backto Tesco's to pick up my free DVD.

As bad as it may be why spoil the set
