The Island indeed was a beauty. The Holcroft Covenant is a pretty good movie, gets a lot of stick, but is well worth a look. What Caine movies would members have liked to see as freebies, my top three would be
The Magus
The Wilby Conspiracy
Sleuth (the new one) cos at the mo i am not willing to spend the cash on it.

Play Dirty (Nigel Davenport walks away with the film and Nigel Green wears a bizarre cardigan in the desert).

The Last Valley (rarely on TV).

Noises Off (I seem to remember it being funny, I'd like to check if it is).

The Last Valley is a fantastic movie. Would love to get my hands on a widescreen print. Can't remember the last time it was on the box.

Had to risk life and limb to get today's copy..

Today's offering is absolutely bobbins, wish I'd saved my £1.50 as even the brief sight of Sigourney's nipples couldn't save this sorry piece of $h*t.

Yes, Half Moon Street is indeed rotten. Todays movie - Water is even worse.

He probably gets something like 5p from every paper sold daily. Spread that over the 14 days and you're probably looking at a million or so.

Default The Holcroft Covenant

Warning! This is a seriously bad print used in today's Mail on Sunday freebie. It looks as though it has been sourced from a fourth generation VHS video copy. It is one of the worst quality DVD's I have seen in many a year. AVOID.

Thats a pity. Have not looked at it yet (was keeping it for tonight). Not one of the easier Caine's to locate either.

Oh, you are in for a "real treat" whenever you put the disc into your DVD player. You will wonder how a newspaper ever let this shite quality item reach the streets. It has to be the poorest quality picture I have ever seen given away with a freebie DVD from a paper. You could easily record it from the TV and get a 10 times better picture and sound.

By God, what a crock of shit. Your bang on in your summing up, the Mail team should hang their miserable heads in shame at this crap. Ah well, looks like i will have to get the region 1 disc after all. 0 out of 10 for the Mail on Sunday.
