You should know, and especially after that piece they did on Alastair Sim, that the Daily Wail has no shame

Basically The Daily Mail is just like all the rest, they are only interested in peddling as many copies of the rag as they can. The only reason it is worth picking up is for the giveaways, they have had some good ones.

I did not know about the Sim piece, i may buy it, but i don't read it. But checking up on it on the net it is just typical of what these buggers think people want to read about. Gutter journalism at its lowest, disgusting.

The only paper i buy on a regular basis and actually read, is the weekly Jewish Telegraph, the national Dailys are really only a source of freebies.

I enjoyed the The Statement, which was the last film in the collection, with Michael Caine hunted for past crimes as a French wartime collaborator. An intriguing film well directed by Norman Jewison, with a good performance from Caine. The main problem was that it was difficult to figure exactly what message (if any) the film was putting across. At times the film seems to expect us to sympathise with Caine as someone who has repented but on the other hand we are constantly reminded of his brutal nature.

It also gets so much free publicity on this site that I think I might join you .... everyone claims not to read it, but they all know what's in it!

Jingle bells Batman smells ... I heard that at school Daddy.

Therein lies a problem, we do know what is in it, and buy it nevertheless for a free movie. So in effect compromise beliefs for a free copy of Ill Met by Moonlight, Appointment In London or The Holcroft Covenant, (in splendid Shitovision). I don't like buying it, but i feel the same way about buying the Sun, the Scottish Daily Racist (sorry, Record) News of the World or the Guardian.

To me they are all the same, best to get your news from other sources. Probably best to get your discs from other sources too.

Caine is very good in this, but i found it very depressing and quite difficult. If there is a message it was lost on me, and although i am glad i got through it, it is not a Caine i will revisit in a hurry.

Exactly. It's been given lots of chances in the past and it's failed every one.
My dislike of The Daily Hate Mail (closely followed by all other newspapers) isn't a recent thing. I've disliked them all for years

How you do find out what's in it? The only time I know what's in is via this site ... the only paper they ever seem to get at work is The Mirror, and that is really mega-shite!

How you do find out what's in it? Read what others say about it, here and in other places. That tells me that it still mainly deals in salacious gossip of the nastiest kind and continues to make up stories about people.

I have read most newspapers in the past. All I need to do now is to know if they've changed or if they still peddle the same filth
